Bridges Family Programs offers a variety of programs and services for families living in Medicine Hat, Bow Island, Brooks, Oyen and surrounding areas. These programs include Best Babies, Building Blocks, Bridges, Children Fetal Alcohol Services, First Steps and Healthy Start.

Our Mission Statement

In a supportive, respectful and collaborative environment, Bridges Family   Programs provides family support, service planning and community referrals. By listening to families and the community and providing information, Bridges Family Programs builds on existing strengths for the betterment of children and their families.

Our Vision Statement

The supports and education provided by Bridges Family Programs will assist families in achieving enhanced resilience and self-reliance in order to encourage the full potential of children and families within the community.

Our Association is committed to these values and beliefs:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of each person will be respected;
  • Children and families have the right to be safe;
  • The welfare and best interests, as well as human constitutional and legal rights of persons served, will be respected;
  • All children, regardless of where they live or what unique needs they or their families have, deserve high quality programs and services;
  • The early years of a child’s life are a critical developmental period.  Interventions during this time can create the foundation for future success;
  • All persons served are individuals with unique needs that may change from time to time;
  • Participation in all agency programs is voluntary;
  • Persons served will be given the opportunity to actively participate in our programs;
  • Services should help maintain and strengthen the family;
  • Persons served should be informed of program and community services available to them;
  • Confidentiality must be protected;
  • The agency and its programs should regularly evaluate the effectiveness of their services;
  • The agency should be an integral part of the community;
  • Staff and volunteers have the right to support and recognition of their efforts.
